Sanako UK are pleased to announce the return of the Bee Competitions for 2024/25. There are three Bees for French, German and Spanish:
Digital Empowerment in Language Teaching (DELTEA)
We’re researchers from the Universities of Southampton and Reading. We’re inviting teachers working with NCLE to join a classroom intervention to test the effectiveness of our French and Spanish phonics app.
International Book Club
Following the loan of a number of foreign language books by EuroToolBox, The Skinners’ Kent Academy has embarked on an innovative project as part of its International Book Club.
Trip to Cambridge German Department
On 1 March, a group of talented German students from Dartford Grammar School set off for St Catharine’s College to attend the German department at the University of Cambridge for their Undergraduate Conference in German Studies.
Welcome to our exchange students
Dartford Grammar School welcomed exchange students from schools in Madrid, Liège and Wakayama Prefecture Japan in Term 2.
DAAD/ILCS German Language Competition 2024
This year, the competition takes newspapers as its theme. Entrants are asked to put together the front page of a fictional newspaper in the German-speaking world. The catch: they are writing the final edition of 2024 and must select the most important stories of a year that has not yet finished.
Wells Langauge Hub launch
The Skinners' Kent Academy and Dartford Grammar School for Boys recently took a significant stride in promoting language education by unveiling the Wells Language Hub.
The GCHQ National Language Competition 2024
We are pleased to confirm the date of the 2024 GCHQ National Language Competition, which will run from Monday 18th November - Friday 22nd November.
'First Finishers’ Gimagine Award
Be one of the first classroom groups to complete the Gimagine Award to win an invitation to the German Embassy’s Sommerfest der deutschen Sprache 2024, where you will be awarded the “First Finishers – Gimagine Award” by the German Ambassador.
FOOTBALL CUP
The EURO 2024 football championship is coming to Germany in June, so the Goethe-Institut has teamed up with the Deutsche Schule in Richmond to organise a one-day football tournament to celebrate. The day includes a free lunch and award ceremony.
Year 7 trip to France
On Friday 2 February Year 7 students from SKA travelled to France for the day.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the visit to Nausicaá, the largest aquarium in Europe, where students were able to observe and interact with an incredible array of marine life.
